Masquerades arrested for stealing N57,000 from trader in Enugu

Masquerades arrested for stealing N57,000 from trader in Enugu

The Police in Nsukka on today arrested two men in masquerade costume in Ovoko Community, Nsukka LGA, Enugu State, for allegedly beating up a passenger on a commercial motorcycle and robbing him of N57,000. The incident happened on the Nsukka/Oballo-Afor highway.

A police source said policemen moved to the scene when the victim, Mr. Chinonso Ezewaji, reported the matter to Nsukka Police Area command and the two men were arrested…
"The escorts of the masquerade however ran away. There were eight masquerades. They blocked the Nsukka/Obollo-Afor road and harassed people. The two arrested masquerades however denied collecting the N57,000 from Ezewaji but claimed they know the person who collected the money from the victim. When we searched one of the arrested masquerade, we saw Indian hemp in his pocket," the police source said.

When contacted, Public Relations Officer, Enugu State Police Command, Mr. Ebere Amarizu, confirmed the incident, saying investigation had commenced on the matter. He urged communities to regulate and monitor those who wear masquerade costumes, adding that some of them used the opportunity to harass, intimidate and rob innocent members of the public.

"The Police are not against the people practising their tradition and culture but community leaders must know the character of people they allow to wear costumes of masquerade in the name of culture. A masquerade has no right to mount road block on busy highways where motorists, motorcyclists and other road users move on daily basis. The police have commenced investigation and will get to the root of this matter as issues of masquerade disturbing people have become a recurring decimal," Amarizu said.
The victim, Ezewaji, a trader, who deals on clothing materials, told the News Agency of Nigeria he was on his way from Nsukka to Obollo-Afor to see his mother when the masquerade stopped the motorcycle he was riding on.

"They beat me, searched me and collected N57,000. When they left, I ran into the bush and when I discovered they have gone some distance, I came out and went to the police to report"he said
The two masquerades identified themselves as Kenchukwu Eze, a carpenter, and Ejiofor Eze, a brick-layer. They, however, denied the allegation that they stole money from Ezewaji They claimed that their colleague, Chima Mamah, stole the money. Eze, however, admitted that the police saw Indian hemp in his pocket, saying it was the leftover of what they smoked before coming out.
"If the police release me, I will not wear masquerade costume, nor smoke Indian hemp again," he pleaded

MUSIC: Will I Ever By The Ghost prod. By Killertunes @therapmoriarty @edwardgodwin26

The Ghost is more than just your typical rapper trying to mimic the ways of the west. Oh No...he's more than that. He has message, direction, content and the quality of actually earning the acclaimed and often overused title -'Lyricist'.

He dazzled with wordplay in his previous effort 'Lighters Up' from the beginning of the song to the end.... 'Don't forget your BEGINNING  because you've got ENDS now'
'pray that we make ends meet till we meet the end'
To name a few.

Now he's back with a sad song about the loss of a lover. The song (Will I Ever) is filled with such raw emotion you can actually hear the pain in his voice. I don't know about y'all but I'm actually in love with this song, the message is very clear-----'I love you and can't continue living in this hell without you'.

AY Makun Reveals Where He Gets His Jokes From

AY Makun Reveals Where He Gets His Jokes From

One of the funniest men on the continent, AY Makun, has disclosed where he gets all his jokes from.

In a recent interview the '30 Days In Atlanta' star said his wife, Mabel Makun gives him inspiration for his jokes.

"You see, to my wife, I am not a comedian. She is even more of the comedian. Because, most of the materials that I use, sometimes, she inspires them," said AY Makun. "There are times that I even talk about her. We laugh everywhere. And there are ways to make her laugh in bed" he also added.

AY who shut down his MVP Lounge in Lekki in May will be re-opening it soon.
According to sources the award winning actor will re-open the lounge on Independence Day, October 1st.

This time around AY will not be involved in the every day operation of the club.
In his Encomium interview back in May AY said he did not shut down the club because of low patronage.

"It's not as if MVP has closed down business for good" said AY. "We want to bring in fresh hands to run the place. For us it's better to close our doors for a while and restrategise than things to get wrong. We need better and able hands to run the lounge" he further said.

In the interview he also said that he is bringing in a professional from the Arabian gulf to work in the lounge.
Don Jazzy Reveals The Secret Behind All His Hit Songs

Don Jazzy Reveals The Secret Behind All His Hit Songs

In a recent chat with City People magazine, Don Jazzy revealed the secret behind his hit songs.
When asked if he has the Midas touch, the super famous producer said he doesn't know about the Midas touch but he understands the market.

In his words: –

"I don't know about the Midas touch, but I think what it is, is that, I understand the market first, I also understand people to a large extent, the common problem with people in the industry is not really understanding the individuals they deal with, either the artiste or their staffs, I run a very beautiful organization where everyone is friends. We are family, I don't come and start using veto power, because I am the boss, the greatest idea might come from the little guy there.

"So I listen to everybody and it works. As for music I try to experiment sometimes, but I don't go out of the box to say I want to over experiment in a way that it is not what people want. If it is akara that you want to sell, it's the akara that you will sell.

You don't have to start putting jam inside akara. Then it's not akara anymore, it is something else, the least you can do is to put small pepper to taste, you cannot now go over outside the box and say you want to put your name on top of the akara and stuffs like that. Over the years there has been the kind of music Nigerians like. This is the kind of music my mother and my father dances to and their friends too, then we just stick to the formula and it works for us"
